Cetaceans develop under the same fundamental principles as other mammals—from bone structure to organ type, structure, and location. However, a number of differences should also be noted. For example, the testes of male whales stay inside the body unlike many other mammals. One of the biggest differences is the lack of hind legs. We can assume that both are the result of the adaptation to living underwater.
